Transition Year Orienteering 19th October 2015 Transition Year Orienteering On Thursday last, we went orienteering in Kilkenny Castle. We headed off at 12 o’ clock and arrived at the Castle around 2 o’clock. Once we got off the bus our teachers assigned us into pairs, we got our dibbers and maps then headed up to the instructor. He told us how to use the dibbers and what way to use the maps. We were all excited and eager to start the course. The course involved a lot nature and beautiful walk ways. Some areas were harder to find than others but overall it was a great experience, as for many of us it was our first time going orienteering. After the orienteering, we were all tired out, from running around the course. Just before we left we had a bite to eat and headed back on our journey. Denise Murray, Transition Year |
